Vogue’s 2011 Summer Playlist
by Freddie Campion

Despite a few predictions to the contrary, it looks like we’re going to have a summer this year after all. So, to kick things off and help you prepare your iPod for the months ahead, we’ve compiled a playlist of some of the season’s coolest new tracks. Sit back and enjoy Afrobeat-fused indie rock from Louisiana-based five-piece Givers; a new track from Fleet Foxes’ Helplessness Blues (already one of this summer’s standout albums); a reggae-tinged cover of Buddy Holly’s “Dearest” by blues-rock maestros The Black Keys; synth-heavy dream pop from Canadian newcomers Austra; contemplative R&B from the Beyoncé-endorsed Frank Ocean, and much, much more.
